I am in contact with a Volleyball player which i think would make a great subject for the image. The player could stand back turned to the sea with the ball under her arm and the net to her side at an angle.
I would shoot this image in early evening(golden hour) to capture the beautiful autumn colours. To light the image i would use two lights a key light in front of the player to fully illuminate the front of the subject while having a second light placed behind the player at an angle to act as a rim light, creating some depth within the image. a reflector may also be used to ensure even lighting across the face.
The setup for this image may look something like this without the white backdrop of course.
